Temperatures have been falling across the country since the beginning of the month of Poush, and they dropped further on Saturday. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, temperatures have decreased in the second and third weeks compared to the first week of Poush. Similarly, temperatures are also gradually decreasing in the Kathmandu Valley.

The department has stated that the minimum temperature in other districts is also decreasing. According to Information Officer Kayastha, the minimum temperature is 2.7 degrees in Dadeldhura, 6 degrees in Dipayal, 5 degrees in Birendranagar, 8 degrees in Ghorahi, 8 degrees in Pokhara, 8 degrees in Simara, 4 degrees in Okhaldhunga, 0 degrees in Jiri, 5 degrees in Taplejung, 4 degrees in Lumle and 7 degrees in Dhankuta. Kayastha said that fog, mist and cold wave are prevailing in the Terai region and this trend will continue. According to him, snowfall is occurring in some places in the Himalayan region. The weather bulletin released by the department tonight states that the weather will be partly cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, while the rest of the region will be mainly clear and foggy in most places in the Terai. The influence of westerly winds is prevailing across the country.

According to the department, there is a possibility of light rain/snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Karnali Province, and there is also a possibility of fog/fog in the Terai region. Therefore, it is requested to take precautions as it is seen that daily life, tourism, health and road transport will be partially affected.
