Any candidate included in the proportional closed list for the House of Representatives election may withdraw his or her name within the specified time, and the party concerned may add another candidate in the place of such withdrawal.
The Election Commission is verifying the candidacy nominations received from 64 political parties. According to the Commission's spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, the list will be verified and notified to the concerned parties by Poush 20, after which the parties will have to correct and resubmit it by Poush 27. If any candidate included in the revised list submitted in this way wants to withdraw his/her name, he/she will be given time until Poush 28. The Commission will inform the concerned party about the candidate who has applied to withdraw and the party will be allowed to send another candidate.
The closed list will be made public on Magh 4. If the general public objects to the claim that the candidates on that list are legally ineligible, the Commission has stated that the final list will be published on Magh 20 after an investigation. The list will not be changed thereafter.
