The Qatari Emir has granted amnesty to 13 Nepalis in prison.

Qatar has granted amnesty on the occasion of its National Day and International Migrants Day. Nepal has expressed its gratitude to Qatar for this.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the amnesty granted on humanitarian grounds is appreciated as a symbol of the deepening friendship and cordiality in the bilateral relations between Nepal and Qatar.

The ministry has expressed confidence that such a humanitarian step will further strengthen mutual trust and cooperation between the two countries. Qatar has not disclosed how much imprisonment and fines have been forgiven.
