The Election Commission has set a 15-day deadline for political parties and candidates to campaign in the upcoming House of Representatives elections.

The code of conduct issued by the commission has stipulated the time for election campaigning only 17 days before the polling day.

Since there is a silence period of 48 hours before the polling, campaigning is completely banned during that period. By reducing the silence period, parties and candidates have 15 days to campaign.

Only during the 15 days given for campaigning, rallies, public meetings or corner meetings can be held.

The final voter list of candidates will be published on 9th Magh.

Even after the final list of candidates has been published, according to the code of conduct, they will have to wait for three weeks to start campaigning.

Only from 3rd Falgun, candidates will be allowed to hold meetings, rallies, media campaigns, publish or broadcast election materials and conduct door-to-door programs.
