Police have arrested a gang that defrauded five hundred thousand rupees by giving fake gold.
A team deployed from the Boudha Police Circle arrested a gang that was defrauding people by giving them metal balls that looked like gold in Kageshwori Manohara Municipality-5, Kathmandu, and made them public today.
The arrested are Sukuman Singh Blon, 45, of Indrasarobar Rural Municipality, Makawanpur, Rajendra Tamang, 48, of Makawanpur, Bir Bahadur Tamang, 53, of Makawanpur Bakaiya Rural Municipality, a resident of Syangtang, and Jit Bahadur Tamang, 42, of Devchuli, Nawalparasi.
District Police Range Kathmandu spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, informed that they were arrested on the charge of defrauding them by passing off fake gold as genuine gold. The police have extended the remand of all four arrested persons for fraud by the District Court and are investigating.
