The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) and Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra (Balen) Shah reached a 7-point agreement on Sunday morning. Balen has joined the RSWP as the prime ministerial candidate in the upcoming elections, while Rabi Lamichhane will be the party president.

The agreement letter states that Balen will be the prime ministerial candidate and the leader of the parliamentary party from the House of Representatives elections to be held after Falgun 21.
