In a statement issued by the Commission, it was stated that the educational certificate submitted by Giri stating that he had passed the 'SLC' from the Bihar School Examination Board, Patna, India in 1988 was confirmed to be fake.
It is also stated that the investigation revealed that Giri had obtained educational qualifications from Tribhuvan University in 2050 BS and from Purbanchal University in 2063 BS on the basis of the fake educational certificate.
Using the same certificate, he was appointed as the Deputy Inspector of Police (Technical) of Nepal Police on 16 Mangsir 2052 BS and was gradually promoted and has now reached the post of Senior Superintendent of Police, the Commission claims.
