Conservationist Dr. Naresh Subedi has been appointed as the member secretary of the National Nature Conservation Trust.
The board appointed him as the member secretary today as per the provisions of the Nature Conservation Fund Act, 2039 BS.
Subedi, who has been working continuously for the Fund for 25 years, was previously the Senior Director of the Fund. During his tenure, Subedi has made significant contributions to the field of nature conservation and biodiversity in Nepal. Due to his initiative and activism, the Government of Nepal had decided to hand over the management of the Lalitpur Central Zoo to the National Nature Conservation Fund for the next 30 years.
In addition, due to his leadership skills and international coordination, more than two hundred conservation-focused projects have been incorporated into the Fund from various donor agencies.
Similarly, the Fund has stated that Dr. Subedi's presence is also influential in the academic and research fields. He has published more than two hundred research-based works so far.
