National Assembly Speaker Narayan Prasad Dahal has said that the government's main task is to hold elections. He highlighted the need for this at a time when the government is emphasizing the issue of good governance.

At a program organized in Kathmandu on Sunday to mark the Federal Parliament Service Day, Chairman Dahal also said that all parties concerned have realized the need and importance of this election after the dissolution of the House of Representatives.  He said that the role of the Federal Parliament is equally important in conducting the election in a fair and rigged manner.

‘The beautiful and advanced aspect of democracy is elections. People’s trust and interest are tied to them. The main task of the interim government now is to conduct the election of the House of Representatives on Falgun 21. We have all realized how necessary and important this election is after the dissolution of the House of Representatives. It is equally important to understand that the government has the responsibility to conduct this election in a timely, fair and rigged environment. It is equally important to understand that we also have the responsibility to support the government,’ he said.

Chairman Dahal said that the parliament has come to work with equal importance in the work of controlling corruption, which is the main demand of the Gen-G movement.
