A corruption case has been filed against Congress leader and outgoing MP Santosh Chalise. On Sunday, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority filed a corruption case against Chalise in a special court on charges of illegal acquisition of wealth.
The CIAA has filed a corruption case against him in the Special Court, demanding a fine of Rs 36.847 million, confiscation of undisclosed assets, and imprisonment.
Chalise was elected as the mayor of Gokarneshwor Municipality in 2074 BS. He was elected from Kathmandu-3 on the Nepali Congress ticket in the 2079 BS House of Representatives election.
