Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel has met with the family of journalist martyr Suresh Rajak, who died in arson during a royalist protest in Tinkune, Kathmandu, on Chaitra 15 last year.
Minister Kharel said that Rajak was declared a martyr at the request of Prime Minister Sushila Karki and other stakeholders.
He mentioned that with the declaration of a martyr, Rajak has become immortal and will always be remembered by everyone.
He also said that it is sad that a situation has arisen where journalists die at their workplace and that the state is vigilant to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
