Hitendra Dev Shakya has assumed his duties as the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) after being reinstated as per the Supreme Court order. He has said that he will work with full dedication upon assuming the post.

'If the Minister of Energy is confident, I will work with full capacity,' he said, 'not in fear and panic. I will move forward with good wishes. ' 

He said that he will be able to apply what he has learned in the past. 'The Minister of Energy has also learned from this organization, we have a common understanding in the energy sector,' he said.

On the proposal of Energy Minister Kulman Ghising, the cabinet meeting held on Asoj 5 decided to remove Shakya from the post of Executive Director of the NEA and transfer him to the Water and Energy Commission.
