CPN-UML Vice-Chairperson Ashtalakshmi Shakya has accused Chairman KP Sharma Oli of always insulting women. She made these comments at an interaction program organized on Tuesday in connection with the 11th General Convention of the UML.

Shakya claimed that UML Chairman Oli had insulted former President Bidya Bhandari by calling her a 'religious scoundrel' and said that it would be unacceptable for a person who has become the Prime Minister of the Republic of Nepal to repeatedly use derogatory words towards the former President. She even sarcastically said that while it is not appropriate for any leadership to insult women, it seems appropriate for KP Oli to do so.

Accusing Oli of not having a positive mindset and approach towards women, she pointed out the need to raise a strong voice against the tendency to insult women. Stating that leadership that insults and devalues ​​women is not needed today, Shakya said that Chairman Oli had made sarcastic comments in the media about former President Bhandari's role, saying, "Like a Dhami, he is swinging his hair and making a show of his pride - can he come and say, 'I came from the presidency, leave the place, I will be the president'?" In a conversation with Kantipur, she raised the reference to Chairman Oli's statement targeting former President Bhandari a few days ago. Shakya said, "A former president, the protector of the country, the protector of the constitution - can he be called a Dhami-jhakri? Even an ordinary woman cannot be insulted like that, let alone a former president. But this leadership suits him.
