Neighboring India has expressed its commitment to provide assistance in the successful conduct of the House of Representatives elections. In a meeting with Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal on Tuesday, Additional Secretary at the Indian Ministry of External Affairs Munu Mahawar expressed his commitment to provide necessary resources and security arrangements for the elections.

Additional Secretary for Northern Affairs of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Munu, arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday as part of his visit to Nepal.

During the meeting, the Indian Additional Secretary expressed his commitment to assist in the reconstruction of Jajarkot after the earthquake and the restoration and management of structures damaged by the disaster, according to the Home Minister's personal secretariat. Additional Secretary Mahawar also invited Home Minister Aryal to visit India at an appropriate time. 

On the occasion of the meeting, Home Minister Aryal had urged to expedite the work of the under-construction dry port at Dodhara-Chandani in Kanchanpur. The Home Minister emphasized the need to enhance the capacity of border security organizations on both sides and make information exchange effective to prevent border crimes, smuggling, illegal goods and criminal activities.
