Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that the government will not hesitate to take drastic measures against corruption, no matter how severe.

At a program organized at Singha Durbar on the occasion of the 22nd International Anti-Corruption Day, she claimed that the government is working at a fast pace for good governance along with its regular work.

'This government is not just an electoral government. It is a government formed on the foundation of the Genji movement demanding good governance,' she said. 'It may take time to achieve the unexpected achievements as per the demands and expectations of Genji, but the government will not back down from taking any drastic steps against corruption.' She said that the established mechanisms of the state have been activated for this.

She said that even if some elements, alarmed by the steps taken in this direction, directly or indirectly threaten her, she will not be afraid. She urged the officials and public servants of the concerned bodies to move forward without being disturbed at all and to use their professional freedom confidently.
