A hearing has been scheduled on the writ petition filed in the Supreme Court by former Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority Hitendra Dev Shakya against the government's decision.

The case has been scheduled for hearing in the bench of Justices Nahakul Subedi and Shrikant Paudel. The second hearing has been scheduled for Monday.

The cabinet meeting held after Kulman Ghising took oath as the Energy Minister had removed Shakya from the Nepal Electricity Authority and transferred him to a special post in the Secretariat of the Water and Energy Commission.

Shakya had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court on Kartik 21, demanding that his post should remain in the authority. The Supreme Court is going to hear the case from 2078 BS along with it. Kulman Ghising had also filed a writ petition in the past.

If the Supreme Court issues an interim order after today's hearing, he will return to the authority again. But the Supreme Court is preparing to hold a final hearing rather than an interim order. The last time Shakya was transferred, an executive directive was issued to Manoj Silwal.
