The commission has published a notice stating that the program for the system will begin from Saturday, and has requested political parties wishing to participate in the system to submit applications from 10 am on November 21 to 4 pm on November 23, as per the approved election program.
For the upcoming election of members of the House of Representatives to be held on 21 Falgun, 33 parties have been registered with the Election Commission under the proportional electoral system. According to the commission, that number of parties were registered as of 4 pm on Sunday.
Earlier, the Commission had called for applications from political parties wishing to participate in the elections. The Commission has issued a notice and has requested political parties wishing to participate in the system to submit applications from 10 am on November 21 to 4 pm on November 23 as per the approved election program, as the program for the system will start from Saturday.
The Commission had started work towards the proportional electoral system by establishing the office of the Election Officer at the Commission's office at Kantipath since last Sunday. Commission Secretary Mahadev Pantha has been designated as the Election Officer for this system.
The Commission has made a work schedule to publish the list of candidates on Magh 8. Similarly, candidates will be able to withdraw their names on Magh 9 and preparations are being made to publish the final list of candidates on the same day and provide election symbols to the candidates.
