The iron fence that was installed at the Pashupatinath Temple, a World Heritage Site, for about a decade has been removed.
Subhash Chandra Joshi, acting member secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust, informed that the iron fence was removed in the process of organizing Pashupatinath. Many devotees have welcomed it after the fund removed the iron fence.
Cultural expert Hari Prasad Sodari said that the removal of the iron railing inside the Pashupatinath main temple is positive.
Cultural expert Sodari says that efforts will be made to remove irregularities such as not allowing lights to be lit inside the temple, not offering flowers and offerings brought by devotees, etc.
The Department of Archaeology had written to remove it, saying that the identity of the World Heritage Site could be lost after placing such materials in the World Heritage Site.
Chief Archaeological Officer of the department, Sandeep Khanal, said that the fund removed the fence immediately after receiving the letter.
