Increase in fire incidents

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, a total of 17 disaster incidents occurred across the country from 10 am on November 21 to 10 am on November 22. The total damage caused by the disasters was Rs. 4.918 million.

Of the total number of disasters, 14 were fires. On that day, four fires occurred in Jhapa district alone. Two in Kailali and one each in Morang, Sankhuwasabha, Rautahat, Bara, Kathmandu, Nawalparasi West, Jumla and Kanchanpur.

Despite the increasing cold, the number of fires has increased. According to the NEA, a total of 17 disasters occurred from 10 am on Mangsir 2 to the morning of the 11th. On that day, 13 fires occurred, while snake bites occurred in Saptari and Bardiya and two animal attacks occurred in Morang. Three in Morang, two in Sarpa, and fires occurred in Siraha, Sarlahi, Lalitpur, Kaski, Baglung, Parbat, Kapilvastu and Rupandehi.

A total of 1.996 million was lost that day. According to the NEA, a total of 13 disasters occurred from 10 am on Mangsir 2 to the morning of the 10th. There were only 10 fire incidents. There were incidents of fire in Solukhumbu, snake bites in Kanchanpur and animal attacks in Panchthar and Taplejung. The NEA has stated that there were fire incidents in Morang, Sunsari, two, Jhapa, Taplejung, Kaski, Dang and Kanchanpur.

According to the NEA, the disaster caused damage worth Rs. 1.843 million. Similarly, a total of 18 disaster incidents occurred from the morning of Mangsir 7 to the morning of the 8. On that day, there were snake bites in Jhapa, animal attacks in Sindhupalchowk and Humla. There were three incidents of fire in Sarlahi, two in Gulmi and one incident each in Morang, Rautahat, Bara, Kathmandu, Kaski, Baglung, Kapilvastu, Banke and Kailali.

The damage was worth Rs. 500,080 that day. The NEA has urged everyone to take precautions as the number of fire incidents has increased nationwide since the onset of the dry season.
