The Department of Immigration has urged educational institutions to stop the misuse of study visas. The department has urged educational institutions not to enroll foreign students solely for visa and income purposes.
The department issued a statement on Wednesday, instructing some educational institutions to recommend visas only after verifying whether the students studying in their institutions are regularly engaged in studies or not.
The statement signed by the department's director Tikaram Dhakal said, 'It has been found that some institutions are enrolling students only from the perspective of income and are also recommending study visas to foreigners who want to get them as an alternative way to stay in Nepal for a long period.'
