Aryal entered the civil service in April 2053 as a statistics officer.
Suman Raj Aryal has been appointed as the Chief Secretary to the Government of Nepal. The Council of Ministers meeting held on Monday decided to appoint Aryal as the Chief Secretary. Aryal will hold the post until Asad 25, 2083.
Aryal, who was promoted to secretary in 2077 Magh 19, had joined the civil service from the Statistics Service.
He joined the civil service as a statistics officer in 2053 Baisakh and has a master's degree in statistics. Aryal, who joined the Statistics Department as an officer, also served as the director general of the department.
Aryal also has experience working in the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Planning Commission, Provincial Secretary, Ministry of Women, Office of the Auditor General, and Provincial Chief Minister's Office. He was transferred to the position of secretary of the Ministry of Defense last Asoj. Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal is going on compulsory retirement from Mangsir 10 due to his age limit of 58 years. The government has appointed a new chief secretary before he goes on compulsory retirement.
From Gokarna Mani Duwadi, Home Secretary during the Gen-G movement, to Madhusudan Burlakoti, Chief Statistical Officer of the National Statistics Office, Labor Secretary Krishnahari Pushkar, and Drinking Water Secretary Pramila Devi Bajracharya, all were in the running for the post of Chief Secretary.
