The District Administration Office, Bara, has issued a curfew order following clashes between Gen-G youths and UML supporters in the area around Simara Airport. Chief District Officer Dharmendra Kumar Mishra issued the curfew order on Wednesday afternoon.
Pradya Mishra said that a curfew order has been issued from the Gandak Canal to the Pathlaiya road section of the highway up to 500 meters on the right and left and 500 meters around the Simara airport. He informed that clashes are still taking place between the two groups.
Currently, flights to Simara and from Simara to Kathmandu have been stopped. Pradya Mishra said, 'The situation is not normal right now. We are trying to control it.'
Pradya Mishra said that the curfew has been issued to prevent damage to government property, officials, employees, government offices and private property and to prevent the situation from worsening further. The curfew has been issued from 12:30 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday.
Gen-G youths demonstrated after receiving information that UML leaders were coming to Simara. In the process, a clash broke out between UML-supporting youths. The Gen-G youths protested after receiving information that UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel and leader Mahesh Basnet were going to attend a program scheduled to be held in Parwanipur, Bara via Simara Airport.
