The Central Security Committee meeting chaired by Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday approved the integrated election security plan.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the Integrated Election Security Plan-2082 to conduct the upcoming House of Representatives elections, announced on Falgun 21, in a fair and fearless manner.
The Central Security Committee meeting chaired by Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday approved the integrated election security plan, Home Affairs Spokesperson and Joint Secretary Ananda Kafle informed media persons after the meeting.
The meeting held on Asoj 29 had decided to form an integrated election security plan task force under the coordination of Home Affairs Joint Secretary and Chief of Peace and Security Division Kafle, comprising representatives from all four security agencies.
Similarly, the meeting decided to write to the Ministry of Defense to recommend to the National Security Council for the mobilization of the Nepal Army for election purposes in accordance with the approved election security plan, Spokesperson Kafle informed. Similarly, the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to organize a provincial-level security seminar targeting the election from Lumbini Province starting from Mangsir 29, he informed.
According to Spokesperson Kafle, he also informed that strict legal action will be taken to quell activities that incite violence and terrorize the people in the country during the election period.
The meeting was attended by Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Rameshwor Dangal, a lieutenant colonel of the Nepal Army, Inspector General of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, Chief of the National Investigation Department, and Chief of the Ministry's Peace and Security Division Kafle, among others.
