Addressing the board of directors meeting of the fund held on Monday, she said that political activists should not be recruited as religious organizations only need religious people.
Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed the view that the Pashupati Area Development Fund should not be turned into a political recruitment center.
Addressing the board meeting of the fund held on Monday, she said that political cadres should not be recruited as religious people are required in religious institutions.
There is a legal provision for the Pashupati Area Development Fund Board of Directors to be chaired by the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to operate and oversee all the activities of the fund.
Since Prime Minister Karki is also the Minister of Tourism, she chaired the meeting.
‘Religious institutions have their own rules and values. They have traditional beliefs and customs. They are our original culture. These values and beliefs should be protected. Pashupatinath is a place where the faith of Hindus all over the world is connected,’ she said in the meeting, ‘It is wrong to recruit party cadres in such an institution and try to keep it in the shadow of politics. The shadow of politics should not be allowed to fall on Pashupati. A recruitment center for party cadres should not be set up. People working here should be religious. There is no need to increase political faith by staying in a religious institution. Religious faith should be increased here.’
