The consultation was held at the central office of the Commission at Kantipath today with the aim of gaining experience from the past to make the upcoming elections clean, independent, impartial, fearless and economical. In line with the spirit of the Genji movement, an interim government has been formed and the election to the House of Representatives is being held on Falgun 21. Similarly, the National Assembly election is being held on Magh 11 for 19 member posts.

The consultation, chaired by Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari, was attended by Commissioners Sagun Shamsher Jabra and Dr. Janaki Tuladhar, former Chief Election Commissioners Surya Prasad Shrestha, Neelkantha Upreti, Dolakha Bahadur Gurung, and former secretaries of the Commission Madhu Regmi, Bharatmani Subedi, Suresh Adhikari, Raviraj Pant, and others.

At the beginning of the consultation meeting, Commission Secretary Mahadev Pantha said that the program was organized to exchange experiences on previous election management and the role played in solving problems and challenges. Informing that vacant posts have been filled in the commission offices across the country to complete the election on time, he said that a meeting of the security organization is being held for election security.

'The knowledge and experience of former office bearers is important as experience sharing inspires improvement and innovative thinking in election management,' he said, 'The upcoming election is not only a constitutional obligation but also a cornerstone of democratic practice.'

125 parties have been registered with the commission so far. The commission has stated that some parties are in the process of registering. Secretary Pantha informed that three new parties have been registered in the current fiscal year. He said that important suggestions will be obtained from the discussion on the role and attention of the commission to create a conducive environment for the election of the House of Representatives, and the steps to be taken for the effective implementation of the election code of conduct.
