Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that she is making efforts to conduct the election in a way that does not shed a single drop of blood and does not injure a single person.

In a meeting with a delegation from the Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL) on Thursday, Prime Minister Karki also informed that the government is committed to holding free and fair elections in a peaceful and fear-free environment. ANFREL is a network of international observers with a secretariat in Bangkok, Thailand.

A team led by Brija Rosales, Executive Director of the Secretariat, has arrived in Kathmandu to assess the election environment in Nepal. The members of the delegation said that they are confident that the government, led by a person who has served as a judge and Chief Justice for a long time, will hold free and fair elections.

Prime Minister Karki said, "Our main objective is to hold elections, and we are focused on this. Civil society and observers also have a role to play in creating a healthy election environment. Their presence here has given the feeling that the election has begun."

Along with the ANFREL representatives, there were also office bearers and members of the Nepal Election Observer Network, NEOC. They also suggested that special emphasis be placed on voter education as there was widespread enthusiasm among young voters who were voting for the first time this time. The government has intensified preparations to hold the upcoming election scheduled for February 21.
