Fourteen Nepalis who had reached Myanmar under various temptations have been rescued and returned to Nepal.
With the help of the Nepali Embassy in Myanmar and the relevant agencies of Thailand, they were rescued and taken to Thailand and returned to Nepal on Wednesday.
According to the Nepali Embassy in Thailand, they were returned via Nepal Airlines on Thursday via the Immigration Office of Tak Province, Thailand.
Similarly, the embassy has stated that initiatives are being taken to rescue 11 more Nepalis in Myanmar as soon as possible. More than 2,000 foreigners from various countries, including 38 Nepalis, had entered Thailand from various scamming centers in Myawaddy, Myanmar after October 19, 2025. The embassy has stated that coordination is being done with the relevant agencies of Thailand to return those 38 people to Nepal.
‘The embassy requests all concerned to go for foreign employment only after obtaining a labor permit as per the criteria set by the Nepal government and not to fall prey to someone’s temptation to earn a lot of money quickly and come for foreign employment under the pretext of visiting countries like Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, etc.,’ the embassy said in a statement.
