President Poudel also said that the young generation has been protesting for an end to corruption, good governance, development, and the situation where Nepali youth have to go abroad, but those who tried to make a living in this heat have failed, and the constitution and system have been saved.
President Ram Chandra Poudel has said that the upcoming House of Representatives elections in Nepal on Falgun 21 are an achievement of the youth movement. He has urged everyone to make the elections a success.
Addressing a reception organized at the Nepali Embassy in Doha, Qatar on Monday, he said that this election will be important for the development and destiny of Nepal, said the President's Press Advisor Kiran Pokharel.
The young generation has been agitating for an end to corruption, good governance, development and the situation of Nepali youth having to go abroad, but President Poudel also said that the constitution and system have been saved because those who tried to make a living in this heat have failed. He mentioned that although it is difficult to find a solution to the storm brought by the youth movement in other countries of the world, in Nepal it has been possible to make a safe landing by preserving the system and constitution.
President Poudel urged the Nepali community to use the experience gained from the development, progress and technology of Qatar in the development of Nepal.
The Nepali delegation, including President Poudel and First Lady Sabita Poudel, who arrived in Doha, the capital of Qatar, today to participate in the 'Second World Summit for Social Development' to be held from November 18 to 20, was welcomed by Nepal's Ambassador to Qatar Ramesh Chandra Poudel, high-ranking officials, and representatives of the Non-Resident Nepali Association. He led the Nepali delegation to Qatar at the invitation of Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for the conference.
On that occasion, Ambassador Poudel informed about the Nepali workers in Qatar. President Poudel is scheduled to address the main session of the 'Second World Summit for Social Development' on November 18, as per the decision of the United Nations General Assembly. In addition, he is expected to meet with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the occasion of the conference.
The previous conference was held in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1995. The conference is expected to discuss issues such as the inequality of development faced by the world today, the imbalance in population, and the impact of technology on society.
Nepal has always been active and committed to peace and stability since becoming a member of the United Nations in 1955. Nepal is currently the chairman of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. President Poudel will return home on Kartik 20 after completing his official visit to Qatar.
