Four people have died in a collision between a passenger bus and a car in Dhanusha. Four people were killed in a road accident at Birendra Bazaar on the East-West Highway on Saturday night.
A bus with the number Sudurpaschim Province 01-001 Kha 2588 heading towards Dhalkebar from Biratnagar hit an auto with the number Province 02-01-001 Gha 1220.
After the collision, the passengers in the auto, Ramesh Magar, 40, of Dhanusha Ganeshman Charnath Municipality-4, his wife Nisha Magar, 32, of the same place, Thula Magar, and the auto driver, Dambar Rai, 40, died, Dhanusha Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganesh Bahadur Bam informed.
According to him, Thula Magar and Nisha, who were seriously injured in the collision, died on the spot, while the auto driver and Ramesh died during treatment at Janakpur Neuro Hospital. The two children of the deceased Ramesh and Nisha were also seriously injured in the accident. He said that 14-year-old Sheetal Magar and 9-year-old Roshan Magar were seriously injured and are being treated at Janakpur Neuro Hospital.
The driver of the bus that hit the victim, Lakhiram Danuwar Tharu, has been taken into custody by the police. Preparations are underway to send the bodies of the deceased to Janakpur Provincial Hospital for postmortem.
