As of Kartik 15 this year, 4,597 disaster-related incidents have occurred across the country. As of Saturday, 335 people have died in these disasters since Baisakhi.

According to Shanti Mahat, spokesperson for the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 41 people have gone missing and 1,264 people have been injured during the period.

There were 316 incidents of flooding alone, resulting in 37 deaths and 27 missing. Similarly, there were 550 landslide incidents, resulting in 67 deaths and four missing, 356 lightning incidents, resulting in 44 deaths, and 538 snakebite incidents, resulting in 92 deaths.

Similarly, there were 269 animal attacks, resulting in 25 deaths and one missing, and 80 drowning incidents, resulting in 27 deaths. Spokesperson Mahat informed that seven people died in 420 incidents of heavy rain, 26 in 1,614 incidents of fire, and eight in 286 incidents of windstorm.

The Authority has stated that nine people have gone missing in avalanches. Two people have died in various disaster-related incidents on Saturday alone. The Authority has informed that there have been 46 disaster-related incidents and that the disaster has affected 31 districts.
