A committee has been formed under the coordination of Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Hari Prasad Mainali, to select and recommend qualified candidates through open competition. Prime Minister Sushila Karki, in her capacity as a departmental minister, decided to form the committee today. Captain Kul Bahadur Limbu has been selected as an expert member of the committee. The Ministry's Planning and Administration Division Chief and Joint Secretary will serve as member secretaries.
The committee will have to select and recommend qualified candidates through open competition within a month. Until a new General Manager is appointed through open competition, Deputy Director General Janakraj Kalakheti, the most senior employee of the corporation, will work as the acting General Manager.
Vice Chairman Bikram Rai will perform the duties of the chairman of the corporation's board of directors until further notice, Ministry spokesperson Ramkrishna Lamichhane informed.
