The Congress Central Working Committee meeting is being held today. The meeting will be held from 1 pm today at the party's central office, BP Smriti Bhawan, Lalitpur. The Congress meeting began on Asoj 28.

Today's meeting is focusing on the 15th general convention of the party. The term of the working committee currently led by President Sher Bahadur Deuba is ending in Mangsir.
In this situation, there has been discussion from the beginning about whether or not to hold a regular general convention of the party. Some leaders had launched a signature campaign for the general convention delegates, demanding a special general convention in the absence of a regular general convention. It is said that 54 percent of the general convention delegates signed for the special general convention.
Earlier, in the meeting that began on Asoj 28, party President Sher Bahadur Deuba had given the responsibility of acting president to Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka, citing health reasons. Since then, the working committee meetings have been held under his chairmanship.
