There is a possibility of moderate snowfall in some places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces today. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is a possibility of heavy snowfall in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.

According to the department, the water flow in the Bagmati, Kamala, Koshi and Kankai rivers and their tributaries will increase significantly during this period. The water level in these areas is likely to reach the alert level, and there is a possibility of sudden flow in the small rivers flowing through the Mahabharat, Chure and Koshi, Bagmati and Madhesh provinces, the department said.

Similarly, the possibility of sudden flow is high in the Kathmandu Valley, Kavre, Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha, Makawanpur, Chitwan and Sindhuli districts of Bagmati province, Bara, Parsa, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Mahottari, Dhanusha, Saptari districts of Madhesh province and Sankhuwasabha, Taplejung, Panchthar, Tehathum, Bhojpur, Dhankuta, Ilam, Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari districts of Koshi province.

Due to the possible rain and snowfall, there is a possibility of sudden flow in the rivers, landslides, etc., as well as impacts on daily life, road and air transport, agriculture, tourism and other sectors.

Cyclone 'Montha', which developed in the Bay of Bengal, is in the process of entering Andhra Pradesh, India. After this, the impact of the cyclone will gradually weaken and move in a north-northwesterly direction, approaching the central region of Nepal and moving eastwards as a low-pressure area, the department has stated.
