Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development Kulman Ghising left for New Delhi, India on Monday afternoon for the eighth meeting of the International Solar Alliance (ISA). The meeting, which will be attended by ministers from more than 40 countries, will be held in New Delhi from 10-13 Kartik.
Minister Ghising is scheduled to address the meeting on behalf of Nepal, where energy ministers and representatives of ISA member countries will hold high-level discussions on topics including solar energy promotion, expansion of sustainable energy supply, climate change mitigation initiatives, and opportunities for collaboration.
Nepal is committed to expanding the use of solar energy for sustainable energy development and is participating in this program with the aim of increasing access to clean energy through international cooperation.
Nepal joined ISA as the 101st member country in Bhadra 2081 after the House of Representatives approved the Framework Agreement on the establishment of ISA. Minister Ghising, who participated in the General Assembly, is scheduled to return home on Wednesday.
