The government has released Rs 4.858 million for the compensation expenses of those injured during the Gen-G movement.
Based on the preliminary report of the Ministry of Health and Population, this amount has been sent to each injured person for relief expenses at the rate of 20 thousand rupees, according to the Secretariat of Prime Minister Sushila Karki.
It is said that in the first phase of such disbursement, the amount has been sent to Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Kaski, Surkhet, Kailali and Dadeldhura. The Council of Ministers had decided on Asoj 12 to provide immediate relief to the injured persons after classification by the technical committee.
So far, the Ministry of Health and Population has provided the details of 2,429 injured persons to the Ministry of Home Affairs. It has also distributed identity cards to identify the injured persons during the protests on Bhadra 23 and 24 and to provide easy and effective treatment. The Ministry of Home Affairs has sent 2,876 identity cards to the concerned District Administration Offices. 38 identity cards have been distributed by hospitals.
Hospitals have been designated for the re-treatment of the injured and Gen-G clinics have been brought into operation in those hospitals. In this way, free transportation has been arranged for the injured who are undergoing re-treatment.
The Ministry of Health has arranged a hotline for the treatment of the injured and has also designated a contact person for facilitation. A technical committee is being formed in the Ministry of Health by classifying the injured based on their condition. Representatives of the injured will also be included in this committee.

Prime Minister Sushila Karki called a team including Secretary of the Ministry of Health Bikash Devkota last Thursday and asked about the condition of the injured and directed that there should be no shortage in treatment, the secretariat said.
The Cabinet meeting held on Bhadra 30 decided to provide free treatment to the injured during the protest.
Relief sent to 53 families of the deceased
The Ministry of Home Affairs has sent financial assistance and living expenses of Rs. 1.5 million to the families of 53 people who died during the Gen-G protest, the Prime Minister's Secretariat has also informed. Of these, 49 families have already received it and the process of paying it to the families of 4 is underway. The Secretariat has stated that efforts are being made to provide assistance to the remaining 4 people by reaching an agreement among the relatives of the martyrs.
The Cabinet meeting held on Bhadra 30 has decided to distribute financial assistance of Rs. 1 million to the families of the deceased Nepali citizens and Rs. 500,000 for living expenses and other expenses. This amount will not be distributed to prisoners who died while escaping during the protest.
Accordingly, the secretariat has informed that the amount has been sent to the families of 53 deceased whose identities have been revealed so far, of which 49 families have received it and the process of sending it to the families of 4 others is in progress.
76 people died during the Gen-G movement. Of these, 53 are civilians whose identities have been revealed, including 3 Nepal Police officers. The identities of 12 are yet to be revealed. 10 prisoners have died in the firing by security personnel while trying to escape from prison. One foreigner has also died.
