The Nepali Army has announced that 61 VIPs were airlifted during the Gen-G protests. The Army made the announcement during a press conference on the Gen-G protests on Bhadra 23 and the events that unfolded the following day.

The army said that 23 Nepal Police personnel were also airlifted and 129 people were rescued from the ground.

The army's Director of War Operations Anup Jung Thapa said that their priority is the security of people and property and national unity. 'We have heard sporadically that the army did not use lethal force, but our clear priority was the security of people and property and national unity,' he said.

In the Bhadra 24 incident, the army rescued the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and other top leaders and their families as well as ministers and took them to a safe place.

A total of 76 people died due to the Gen-G movement and the situation that arose from it.
