The Nepal Panchang Adjudicatory Development Committee has announced the best weather for this year's Bhaitika. Chairman of the committee Prof. Shambhu Prasad Dhakal informed that at 11:39 am on Thursday, October 6th, the weather of Bhaitika is perfect.

Prof. Devmani Bhattarai, a member of the committee informed that even though there was no hindrance in the midday of Thursday, October 6th, auspicious times of Dhanu Lagna, Kanya Navamansh, Char Bela and Abhijit Yoga and Vijay Muhurta were given to search for auspicious times. 'The state administrator should apply the vaccine on the spot. There is no problem for common people to get vaccinated at noon,' he said. 

This year Yamapanchak starts from Saturday 1st of October. Yamdeep donation is started from that day. It is mentioned in the calendar approved by the committee that Dhan Trayodashi and Dhanteras festival also fall on this day. Kag Tihar is celebrated on Sunday 2nd of October. Dhanwantari Jayanti festival is also celebrated on this day. 

On Monday, October 3rd, Kukur Tihar was celebrated in the morning with Narak Bath and Lakshmi Puja in the evening. On this day, in the evening, Deepmalika is performed. According to the committee, the decision regarding the festival has been made according to the Shastra as the Kattik Krishna Chaturdashi and then the Aunshi Tithi will be held on the 3rd of October until 02:52 PM.

There is a classical saying that Lakshmi Puja should be performed on the day of Aunsi Tithi in Saikal. Bathing and donation on Aunsi Tithi should be done on Tuesday morning, 4th of October. According to the committee, the Aunshi date is 04:29 PM on October 4th.

Cow, Goru and Atma (Mah) Puja is a classical word to be done on Wednesday, 5th of October. It has been mentioned in the text called 'Krityavatika' that Atma (Mah) should be worshiped in the evening of Kattik Shukla Pratipada. Atma (Mah) Puja is a tradition especially done by the Newar community. Three calendars (almanacs) approved by the committee are published by panchangkars of the Newar community. Siddhilakshmi Vyanjankar, Kirtikiran Joshi and Shashidhar Joshi, Panchangkars of the Newar community have also mentioned the topic of self-pooja on October 5th in their panchangas (calendar). 

According to the committee, the New Year should be celebrated on this day according to Nepal Samvat. President Dhakal said that this decision was made according to the scriptures that the new year should be celebrated on the same day as the sun rises on the day of Pratipada. Nepal Samvat 1146 starts from this day. 

According to the classical method, Bhaipuja and Kijapuja called in Newari language will also be celebrated on Thursday 6th October. Dwitiya Tithi is only till 7:04 AM on November 2nd. According to the scriptures, Bhaitika is worn at midday.  In the scriptures, the word brother worship is mentioned and that word refers to both brothers. The committee said that it is scriptural to inoculate brothers according to the order of seniority, even though they are called brothers.

Every year from Kattik Krishna Trayodashi to Kattik Shukla Dwitiya, the Tihar festival called Yamapanchak is celebrated. In this festival, Yamadeep is offered from the evening of Kattik Krishna Trayodashi to the evening of Kattik Shukla Dwiya. Yamdeepdan is done by pronouncing the name based on the number of the family. There is a classical belief that if you donate Yamadeep on this occasion, you will be freed from Yamayatana.

There is a Vedic tradition of making crows and dogs happy by giving them sweet food as yamaduts. Which is believed to help in Yamaloka.
