Minister of Communication and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel has suggested the officials of Press Council Nepal to work in a way that makes the common people feel that they are an empowered and autonomous body.

At the reception organized by the Press Council Nepal today in honor of Minister Kharel, he asked the Council to work in a result-oriented manner when the general elections are coming and the activities of political parties are increasing. He stressed that the council should be serious about the issue of monitoring and regulating the personal social networks operated from the citizen level by state agencies and bringing them under the scope of action. 

'Abusing each other through false, incorrect, hateful information on social networks, arguing  And the entire state apparatus should be worried about the act of attacking,' he said. He suggested to the council to broadcast content that gives an awareness message regarding the regulation of social networks registered in Nepal. "What kind of manpower and equipment is needed by the council and how it will be easy to regulate social media," he said.
