President Ramchandra Paudel is going to discuss with the political parties and the government about conducting the elections on time.

All the political parties and governments represented in the Parliament have been invited by the President. The discussion will start at 4 pm at the President's residence, Sheetal Niwas, according to the Secretariat of the President.

The interim government formed after the Gen-G movement has a mandate to hold elections within 6 months. Prime Minister Sushila Karki addressed the nation on October 9 saying that the government has been formed with the responsibility of holding the election of the House of Representatives. He claimed that the election will be free of rigging and with an environment where everyone can participate.

The election date has been announced on February 21.
