Sudan Gurung, who has come into the limelight as a Gen-G leader, has approached the police with a complaint against former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Oli.

From Monday evening, he started campaigning on social media saying that Oli and the writer should be arrested immediately. He reached the District Police Complex, Kathmandu with a complaint.

However, an officer told Kantipur that the police refused to register the complaint saying that it was not received properly. "While the commission headed by Mr. Gauri Bahadur Karki is working, there is no immediate registration," he said, "however, we are discussing more." More than 2500 bullets were fired in two days by lethal weapons, and at least 75 people died in a state of panic.

The government formed a commission of inquiry under the leadership of former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki to investigate the use of force by the state side during the demonstration. The Commission is also studying the role of the then Oli-led government in the demonstration.

However, some Gen-G leaders of the injured families, including Sudan Gurung, had been putting pressure on Baluwatar and the Ministry of Home Affairs saying that some of the then state officials involved in the incident of 23 and 24 August should be arrested immediately. The home administration had been saying that the commission was working and that the action process would proceed.

The Commission had previously written to the Home Administration asking them to stop the passports of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, former Home Minister Ramesh Lukhar, the then head of the National Investigation Department Hutraj Thapa and Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Chhabi Rizal . They were also barred from leaving Kathmandu without the approval of the commission.
