The Department of Water and Meteorology has reported that the maximum rainfall occurred in Maheshpur of Rautahat from 04:30 am on Saturday to 04:30 am today.

Due to the low pressure system developed from the Bay of Bengal, Monsoon became active from the evening of October 17 till this morning and heavy to very heavy rains were recorded in most of the rain gauges in Madhes and Bagmati provinces and moderate to very heavy rains in most of the rain gauges in Koshi province. During that time, the department reported that 358 mm of rain was measured in Rautahat. 

According to the details of the last 24 hours of rainfall, rainfall has been measured at 186 centers. Out of which 105 centers have received more than 50 mm, 68 centers have more than 100 mm, 21 centers have more than 200 mm and five centers have more than 300 mm. According to the statistics of the department, centers with more than 300 mm of rainfall are Himali village center in Ilam district (332.6 mm) and Kanyam tea state center (314.2 mm), Mudli center in Parsa district (328 mm), Maheshpur center in Rautahat district (328 mm) and Gaur center (315 mm). 

Department Spokesperson Vibhuti Pokharel informed that the water level in Bagmati, Trishuli, East Rapti, Lalbakaia, Kamala and other rivers under the mentioned province has crossed the alert level and is currently decreasing since Saturday afternoon due to incessant rain.
