As there are still problems due to landslides and floods on some roads, the road department has requested to travel only with information.
In the details of the road condition released by the department this evening, it is said that there is still a problem in the eastern section of the East-West Highway. Prabhat Kumar Jha, the spokesperson of the department, informed that landslide removal work is going on in the Kakdavitta and Kalikhola areas of the highway.
Similarly, the department said that there were many problems in the Ilam section of the Mechi highway and that the BP highway could be operated only seven days after the flood stopped. After the flood damage in the second week of October last year, about one and a half dozen places of the BP highway were 'diverted'. This year, the department has said that the work will be started after the flood returns to normal as the structure has been demolished.
Similarly, spokesperson Jha informed that Kanti Lokpath can be opened only on Monday. Landslides have also caused problems in other roads connecting the federal capital to Bagmati state capital.
