As incessant rain continued throughout the country, the risk of floods and landslides increased in many districts from Madhesh to Bagmati provinces throughout the day on Saturday.

According to the Department of Water and Meteorology, the water level of water sources has increased rapidly throughout the day, especially in all the districts of Madhesh province and Makwanpur, Sindhuli, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and Kavrepalanchok districts of Bagmati province.

As the amount of rain increased throughout the day on Saturday, the water level of rivers crossed the danger level in 19 centers of Makwanpur, Bara, Rautahat, Lalitpur, Dhanusha, Sindhuli and Parsa, said Vinod Parajuli, a senior hydrology expert of the Department of Water and Meteorology.

Meanwhile, alert and danger levels have been crossed in seven major rivers throughout the day . Parajuli, a senior hydrology expert of the Department of Water and Meteorology, said, "Seven rivers have crossed the danger level in the Manohara, Khokna and Kamala rivers of Sindhuli in central Bagmati."

According to Parajuli, Ratu river in Dhanusha, Lalbakaiya river in Makwanpur, Hanumante river in Bhaktapur, Roshi river in Kavrepalanchok have crossed the alert level. 

What will happen tomorrow?

department has issued a 'red alert' in all districts of Madhesh province and western district of Koshi province from 8 pm on Saturday to 8 pm tomorrow.

While the rain is moving in Madhesh and Koshi region, the rain is going to be moderate in Bagmati from tomorrow afternoon . According to the department, although the current situation is dangerous, meteorologists have said that the rain will gradually ease after tomorrow afternoon.

They said that there is a possibility that the monsoon will leave Nepal after tomorrow. After the said time, it is estimated that there will be normal to light rains only in some districts of Koshi province.
