The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has instructed the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, State Disaster Management Committee, District Disaster Management Committee and Local Disaster Management Committee to show high activity in disaster preparedness and response.

The Department of Water and Meteorology has forecast heavy rains in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces from October 17th to 20th and very heavy rains in some places.

'As the residents of the area where there is a possibility of flooding should move to a higher and safer place, it is requested to prepare for it, to make special preparations to move pregnant women, children, elderly people, disabled people and seriously ill people to a safe place and not to travel to the place according to the notification issued by the official body', the statement issued by the secretariat states.
