Nakhkhu Jail in Lalitpur has requested the absconding prisoners to come back.

The prison administration has issued a notification asking the absconding prisoners to come back on August 24.

According to prison chief Satyaraj Joshi, 1,280 prisoners who have been convicted in various cases are absconding and 587 have returned so far. He said that about 50 of the fugitives are in other prisons across the country. Joshi said, 'About 651 people are still absconding. Earlier on August 26, a public appeal was made to the prisoners to come back. After  We have said that we will be contacted by the Prison Management Department as per the circular to conduct the search and arrest operation for the absconding prisoners on the 10th of October.' It has been informed that if the person does not return to the prison by Monday, October 20 as specified by the

department, action will be taken according to the Prison Act, 2079 and other prevailing laws.

The prison has requested the prisoners' families, security agencies, local level, media, related government offices and all those concerned to help in this work.
