More than 8,000 prisoners returned to prison, 6,500 are still absconding

According to the director of the department, Chomendra Neupane, some of them came by themselves, while others were arrested and brought by the security personnel. According to him, 6,494 prisoners are still absconding.

Out of 14,549 prisoners who escaped from 28 prisons and nine correctional facilities in the country, eight thousand and 54 have returned to the prison so far. According to the Department of Prison Management, there are 7,713 people who escaped from prisons and 341 people who escaped from correctional facilities.

During the Genji movement, 13 thousand 585 prisoners escaped from the prison and 964 from the correctional facility on August 24. Meanwhile, 10 prisoners have died. There are currently 23 thousand 446 prisoners out of a total of 30 thousand 646 prisoners.
