Prime Minister Sushila Karki, in her first address to the nation on Thursday, said that it is her responsibility to hold elections within six months along with changes in the government system and fulfilling the expectations of good governance as desired by the Nepalese people.

An internal government was formed on August 27 with the responsibility of conducting elections under the leadership of former Chief Justice Karki in the wake of the Zenji group's agitation on August 23 and 24.

After the formation of the government, Prime Minister Karki addressed the nation for the first time from the Singha Darbar on Thursday. Before his address, the first meeting of the expanded Council of Ministers was held at Singha Darbar. He said that the government is determined to complete the election of the House of Representatives in a clean, fair, free and fearless manner on the scheduled date of February 21.
