Residence of the Minister of Education in the Ministry

Employees of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology had a van to wash clothes and utensils on Tuesday.

After the newly appointed minister Mahavir Pun said that he would stay in the ministry 24 hours a day, some staff were busy gathering material for bed and food for him. After living and eating Jorjam, the minister has started staying at the Ministry of Education in Kesharmahal since Tuesday.

Spokesman Shivkumar Sapkota said that arrangements have been made to eat and sit in the room next to the minister's office. The rooms next to the office have been cleared and used for sleeping, living and kitchen. The minister has started living there," he said. 

After the Ministry of Education inside the Singha Darbar was set on fire during the demonstration on 24 August, the Ministry has been temporarily shifted to Kesarmahal in Thamel. The office of the Minister of Education has been established on the first floor of the building next to Keshar Library. The minister's accommodation has been arranged in a room connected to the office.

Minister Pun, taking office in the working room on Monday after taking oath, asked Secretary Chudamani Paudel to arrange the village and accommodation for him within the ministry. He announced that he will work in the ministry 24 hours a day. Wherever I go, I have a habit of staying where I work.

I also lived there while working at the National Innovation Center. After work, I used to leave Kathmandu from Kirtipur in just 2 months. Even if I go to Birgunj, I will stay where I work," he said. "I want a bed. Need a table and chair. Need a kitchen. I will cook and eat it myself.'' On Monday night, he reached Kirtipur to stay.

Minister Pun has proposed that the security personnel also sit together within the ministry. He says that he will take the facility of government vehicles only for the work of the ministry. "There is no need to come after me when I leave the ministry to report the above," he said to the security personnel assigned with him.

Sapkota, the spokesperson of the ministry, said that arrangements have been made for the security personnel to stay inside the ministry. "We have cleared the rooms and made a place for the minister's team to stay," he said.

The minister was busy with the work of the ministry all day on Tuesday. Attended briefings with staff and meetings with visitors. He has also issued a three-point directive covering the issues raised during that time. In the instructions published on social media, Minister Pun has proposed that a computer teacher will be arranged in every public school.

In order that students studying in public schools are not deprived of computer education, he said that the post of one computer teacher should be added to every school for teaching.

Education and Human Resource Development Center can increase teacher posts only with approval from the Ministry of Finance. There has been no increase in posts in public schools for 20 years. The School Education Bill proposed to automatically convert 40,000 teachers, including relief and temporary, into posts. But due to the change of government and the dissolution of parliament, the bill has become inactive. Minister Pun has also instructed the educational institutions to publish the results of the

examination within 3 months. Some universities take 8 months to 1 year to get the exam results. It is an irreparable loss for students. Therefore, I have instructed the university to compulsorily release the exam results within 3 months," Minister Pun wrote on social media, "The grants of the universities that do not release the exam results on time will be stopped. The National Examination Board has said that the examination results of 5 lakh students of Class 12 will be published within 3 months.

Similarly, Minister Pun, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, has given instructions to make the university attractive by uprooting the bushes in Kirtipur and making a footpath with gardens. It is mentioned in his instructions that big trees cannot be cut.
