The Chitwan District Administration Office has announced alternative routes that can be used as an alternative to the road section after a large landslide occurred at Tuinkhola on Narayangadh Muglin Road at five o'clock on Tuesday afternoon due to which traffic was stopped.
As the road is not likely to be opened immediately, the Chitwan administration has appealed to take an alternative route through Bardiwas in Mahottari in the east and Butwal in Rupandehi in the west.
Similarly, it is mentioned in the notice of the administration to adopt alternative routes from Hetaunda of Makwanpur, Kawasoti and Gaindakot of Nawalparasi Bardghat Susta, Khairenitar of Tanahun and Naubise of Dhading. Narayangadh Muglin Road is the main road connecting federal capital Kathmandu and tourist city Pokhara with East West Mahendra Highway. More than 10,000 small and big vehicles and cargo trucks pass through this road every day. This road was closed for 45 hours due to landslides from Friday evening and was opened on Sunday afternoon. A big landslide happened again without proper operation.
Chitwan Prashamsan has requested not to travel as much as possible at this time. 'Our request is not to travel at risk. Let's save lives, we will do it after the trip. Let's travel around. Let's not get ourselves into trouble in the hope that the road will be opened,' states the notice issued by Chief District Officer of Chitwan, Ganesh Aryal.
