The government has formed a three-member commission of inquiry to investigate the incidents including the use of force in the Genji movement.

Home Minister Omprakash Aryal informed that the commission has been formed under the coordination of former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki. The Cabinet meeting held on Sunday formed an inquiry commission under the leadership of Karki.

Former AIG of Nepal Police Vigyanraj Sharma and legal scholar Bishweshwar Prasad Bhandari have been appointed to the commission. The tenure of this commission is set for three months.

74 people died during the Genji movement on August 23 and 24.
